DAYTON HISTORICAL SOCIETY
AUGUST 27, 2002
The August meeting of the Dayton Historical Society was held on the 27th at the Franklin Schoolhouse with 11 people in attendance. President Andy Cole called the meeting to order. The Treasurer’s report was read and accepted with a balance of $2836.22 in the checking account. There was no formal Secretary’s report.
Under old business, discussion continued on the proposed cost of fixing the foundation. One fund-raising suggestion was that the original stones could be sponsored as they are set back in place.
Under new business, members discussed the possibility of cleaning out and repairing old cemeteries. There are 39 in Dayton.
The next meeting will be held on September 24th at the Harris Farm Ski Hut at 6:30 PM.
Respectfully submitted,
Valerie Cole, Secretary
