Dayton Historical Society
October 25, 2004
ADMINISTRATIVE:
The October 25th meeting of the Dayton Historical Society was called to order by President Andy Cole at 6:40 PM at Harris Farm. Eighteen people were in attendance. The Secretary’s report was read and accepted. Though there was no formal Treasurer’s report, the checkbook balance is over $7000. The Society has received a check from the Town for $4500.
OLD BUSINESS:
Jeremy Berube has finished the foundation work on the Franklin School and is working on the exterior walls. He quoted $5200 for the walls, doors, and windows. After he is done the building will ready to paint. A load of sand was dumped near the trench and needs to be spread around the foundation.
The hard coin cases are in and both coins and T-shirts will be sold at the Election Day bakesale. Nancy Welch volunteered to work at the table.
Andy Cole will call for more information on calendars. Members were asked to bring old photos of Dayton for the next meeting.
Andy called Bruce Monroe about the video of the July 10th parade, and Mr. Monroe will bring the video to the next meeting for viewing.
NEW BUSINESS: No new business.
The meeting adjourned at 7:15. The next meeting will be a combined November/December meeting and will be held on Tuesday, December 7th, 6:30 PM at Harris Farm. .
