Dayton Historical Society
July 26, 2005
ADMINISTRATIVE:
The July 26, 2005 meeting of the Dayton Historical Society was called to order by President Andy Cole at 7:10 PM at the Franklin Schoolhouse. Ten people were in attendance. The Secretary’s report was read and accepted. The Treasurer’s report was unavailable. Before the meeting members installed a sign at the corner of the property facing the intersection. The sign was created by John Coniaris and his son Jeff.
OLD BUSINESS:
Andy Cole has not contacted the woman who creates calendars from photos. He asked John Coniaris to try calling.
Bruce Monroe will have four copies available soon of the July 10th, 2004 parade video.
NEW BUSINESS:
Blow Brothers Industries has donated $500 to the Society. The Secretary will write a thank you note.
Proceeds from the Goodwins Mills Fire Department bean supper and from the bake sale and T-shirt sale totaled approximately $300.
Andy will ask electrician Phil Hussey for a quote on re-wiring the inside of the schoolhouse. Members will attempt to find granite blocks to replace the steps at the front of the building. A work night is scheduled for Wednesday, August 3, 6:30 PM.
The meeting adjourned at 7:30. The next meeting will be held on Tuesday, August 30, 2005 at 6:30 PM. This will be the annual potluck cookout and will be held at Andy and Valerie Cole’s house.
