Dayton Historical Society
August 30, 2005
ADMINISTRATIVE:
The August 30, 2005 meeting of the Dayton Historical Society consisted of a potluck cookout at the home of Andy and Valerie Cole. Twenty-three people were in attendance. The Secretary’s and Treasurer’s reports were not presented. An informal meeting was held following the meal.
OLD BUSINESS:
Andy Cole contacted the woman who creates calendars from photos. She will do as few as twenty-five at a cost of $6 each, and reorders are available. Andy asked members to bring photos to the next meeting to select for the calendar.
Andy will ask electrician Phil Hussey for a quote on re-wiring the inside of the schoolhouse. Members will attempt to find granite blocks to replace the steps at the front of the building.
NEW BUSINESS:
A work night is scheduled for Tuesday, September 14, 6:30 PM at the Schoolhouse. Dale Pierson has offered to donate topsoil and grass seed for the Schoolhouse lawn.
The meeting adjourned at 8:30. The next meeting will be held on Tuesday, September 27, 2005 at 6:30 PM at Harris Farm.
