Dayton Historical Society
October 25, 2005
ADMINISTRATIVE:
The October 25, 2005 meeting of the Dayton Historical Society was called to order by President Andy Cole at 6:45 PM at Harris Farm. Five people braved a windy, rainy night to attend. The Secretary’s and Treasurer’s reports were read and accepted. There is a balance of $2692.80 in the checking account.
OLD BUSINESS:
The calendars are completed and will be offered for sale at the upcoming bake sale on Election Day (November 8). The price will be $12 each for one or two, $10 each for three or more. If the calendars sell out, names will be taken and more calendars will be ordered. Coins will be offered for sale as well. Members were asked to donate baked goods.
The Historical Society received a check from the town for $2800. This is from the warrants from 2004 and 2005.
Ted Poirier has removed stumps and completed work around the foundation of the Schoolhouse. The bill came to $1400.
Andy will ask electrician Phil Hussey for a quote on re-wiring the inside of the schoolhouse. Members will look for granite blocks to replace the steps at the front of the building.
NEW BUSINESS:
The combined November/December meeting will be held on Tuesday, December 6, 2005 at 6:30 PM. It will be a dessert party and will be held at Andy and Valerie Cole’s house on Murch Road. Andy will try to get the July 2004 parade video from Bruce Monroe for members to watch.
The meeting adjourned at 7:00 PM
Respectfully submitted,
Valerie Cole, Secretary
Members Present: John Gay, Bill Saltzer, Virginia Proctor, Valerie & Andy Cole
